Community and Fundraising Officer
About the Role
As the Community Engagement & Fundraising Officer, you will help connect our community to the work and impact of Hope Horizons by building strategic partnerships and supporting the long-term sustainability of Hope Horizons through fundraising and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
This is a dynamic and relationship-focused role that combines community engagement, partnership development, fundraising, and communications to increase awareness, support, and long-term sustainability. You'll work alongside Friends of Hope Horizons, local businesses, donors and community supporters to strengthen the networks that sustain and grow our organisation.
As we continue to grow, there will be opportunities for this role to expand in scope and responsibility, including strategic fundraising, advocacy, and grant development activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Identify and develop fundraising, sponsorship, donation, and partnership opportunities aligned with Hope Horizon’s purpose and strategic priorities.
Build and maintain positive relationships with donors, supporters, local businesses and community groups.
Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective donors, sponsors, community partners, and supporters.
Support Friends of Hope Horizons and volunteer-led fundraising initiatives through communication, coordination and relationship management.
Coordinate donor stewardship and recognition activities that encourage ongoing engagement and support.
Manage social media platforms and digital communications to increase awareness, engagement, and fundraising outcomes.
Create and share compelling stories that highlight the impact of Hope Horizons and the people we serve.
Support promotional campaigns, community awareness initiatives, and media opportunities.
Maintain accurate records and complete monthly reporting relating to fundraising activities, partnerships, and outcomes.
Identify opportunities to strengthen community support and contribute to the future growth of Hope Horizons.
About you
You're someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and bringing them together around a shared purpose.
You might have experience in community engagement, fundraising, business development, communications, marketing or stakeholder engagement, but above all, you're a natural relationship builder. You know how to make people feel valued, follow through on commitments and turn conversations into meaningful connections.
You're organised, proactive and comfortable working independently. You enjoy variety, can juggle multiple priorities and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed.
Most importantly, you believe in the power of community and are motivated by the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of people impacted by cancer.
This is a role where every conversation, every introduction and every story shared has the potential to create lasting impact.
